Waze is an extremely cool crowdsourcing application for real-time traffic updates (similar to Google Maps Live Traffic). After you have traveled multiple routes to a common destination the application will learn and can tell you what is the fastest route before you leave. It also has the ability for users to add speed traps (similar to trapster) to notify other drivers.

I really do like this idea, but I think that it would work much better if it was integrated with a car’s GPS navigation system. Also, the iPhone’s inability to multitask (right now) is a big barrier for this one.
