Website: Google Zeitgeist 2010 Google has created an interesting HTML5 website that displays worldwide search trends over the course of 2010. The events that have been tracked are the Vancouver Olympics, the South African World Cup, the oil spill in the Gulf, the Iceland Volcano ash cloud, and the Hati Earthquake. Two worldwide celebrations and three disasters (two of which were natural) isn’t bad, but we can do better for 2011. (via Zeitgeist 2010: How the world searched via Joshua Ross)
