This is a great idea to quantify our problem and show that it isn’t getting better. It seems that Deutsche Bank is taking a leadership role with this one. Josef Ackermann was quoted on their website:
“And of course this is where Deutsche Bank’s role comes in - as asset manager we can steer investments into low-carbon companies, as trader we provide liquidity in the carbon market, and as capital market player we can raise debt and equity capital to fund clean tech companies and projects and as advisors we want to provide solutions to all clients who face the inevitable impact of climate change.”
In the book The Weather Makers Tim Flannery goes into crazy detail about the correlation of CO2 and the average global temperature. We are definately turning the thermostat up.
